David Agosti

Director - Parking & Sustainable Mobility, Simon Fraser University
David Agosti is the Director of Parking and Sustainable Mobility at Simon Fraser University (SFU) and is responsible for everything commuter-related across all three SFU campuses. When looking at transportation, David analyzes consumer behaviour to better understand what motivates people to take different forms of transportation and what can be done to incentivize them to adopt more sustainable modes. Through incentivizing sustainable transportation methods, David’s department aims to help SFU achieve its 2025 Sustainability goal by reducing Scope 3 emissions from commuting by 25%. During David’s decade-plus tenure at SFU, he has seen transportation at Universities shift from parking-focused departments to a more holistic viewpoint that takes into account the economic, environmental, and sociocultural impacts of our collective transportation choices. David is currently focusing on the intersection of data & technology, consumer behavior, and sustainability in the transportation field in such areas as: electrification, micro-mobility, mode-shift, and connectivity. During his spare time, David unplugs from technology and enjoys hikes into the backcountry of British Columbia to experience the natural wonder of our province.
 

Mahdis Araujo

Program Manager, Sustainable Transportation, Fraser Basin Council
Mahdis Araujo is Program Manager, Sustainable Transportation at Plug In BC. She oversees the following programs: the CleanBC Public Charger Program, the CleanBC Go Electric Fleet Charging Program, the CleanBC Go Electric Rebate Program (formerly SUVI), the EV Advisor Service for Home and Workplace, and the Emotive Program – The Electric Vehicle Experience.

Mahdis is one of the successful mentees of the 2022-2023 Women4Climate Vancouver Mentorship Programme. She is passionate about environmental initiatives, social equity, youth engagement and community building. She led the research project on barriers to electrification in marginalized communities.
 

Charlotte Argue

Senior Manager, Sustainable Mobility, Geotab
As Sr. Manager of Sustainable Mobility at Geotab, the world’s leading telematics company, Charlotte’s focus is on enabling fleets in reducing carbon emissions with data-driven solutions, and sharing aggregated insights to inform large-scale vehicle electrification strategies. She is a subject matter expert in fleet electrification and a champion for connected vehicle technology solutions in the EV industry. Charlotte has been involved in electric transportation since 2009. Before joining Geotab she managed the Plug In BC initiative in British Columbia, delivering EV programs for fleets, charging infrastructure and public awareness. She sits on the board of NACFE (North American Council for Freight Efficiency) and is BC Chapter Chair for Women of EVs.
 

Sarah Balloch

Clean Transportation Manager, Clean Foundation
Sarah Balloch is the current Manager of Clean Transportation with Clean Foundation. She brings to the role a of experience in program management, public outreach and engagement around energy efficiency-related programing. She has successfully overseen teams of anywhere from five to 35 staff, ensuring effective delivery and implementation of initiatives.

Sarah's educational background includes a BA in Environmental Studies and an MA in Environmental Education and Communication, equipping her with a comprehensive understanding of environmental issues and their interconnectedness with social, economic and ecological systems. Her expertise extends to collaborating with delivery agents and regulators throughout the entire program lifecycle, from development to marketing, delivery, quality assurance and completion.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sarah is deeply passionate about environmental conservation and outdoor exploration. She has received training from reputable organizations such as the Outdoor Council of Canada, Hike NS, Canadian Women & Sport and the Canadian Wildlife Federation. This training has further enhanced her ability to connect with nature and promote sustainable practices.

Sarah's commitment to creative problem-solving and maximizing social value opportunities is a driving force behind her work with the Clean Transportation team. Over the past three years, she has successfully led her team, introducing Nova Scotians and others to the benefits of electric vehicles and e-bikes through test drives and informational events. Through her efforts, Sarah is making a significant contribution to the promotion of clean and sustainable transportation options.
 

Matthew Bartolone

Director of Sales, Public Charging, ABB E-Mobility
Matthew is the VP of Sales, Public Charging, for ABB E-Mobility in Canada. Matthew joined ABB in January 2021 and has been helping the ecosystem deploy public chargers since. Prior to his experience at ABB, Matthew was a passionate advocate for the Canadian transportation sector, working at Pratt & Whitney Canada and Bombardier. Matthew earned his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and his Master of Business Administration from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Matthew is a professional Engineer and a member of the Ordres des Ingenieurs du Québec. He is passionate about the tech innovation and the journey toward electrification that comes with it.
 

Jérémie Bernardin

Director of EV Training & Innovation, Integrated Automotive Experience
Jérémie is a trailblazer in the electrification of transportation, with 13 years of dedicated experience in the field. As the Director of EV Training & Innovation, he is at the forefront of developing and implementing comprehensive EV training programs. His expertise in the EV sector is unique. From co-founding and leading the Electric Vehicle Association of Atlantic Canada to designing and launching the award-winning Next Ride program, and co-founding All EV Canada, a pre-owned electric vehicle dealership and service center. Jérémie is a dedicated advocate for clean transportation. Whether he's consulting for major OEMs, or developing new industry training programs, he works earnestly to accelerate the transition to electrified transportation.
 

Frédérique Bouchard

Senior Manager Public Affairs, FLO
Frederique works on policy questions related to electric mobility, cleantech and innovation. She is currently Public Affairs Manager at FLO. She was most recently on the Public Policy & Government Relations team at Element AI, and previously worked as a Policy Advisor in the Office of the Ontario Minister of Education. She has advised CEOs and Ministers on questions related to innovation, sustainability and inclusive growth.



Frederique holds a Master’s in Public Policy and Global Affairs (University of Toronto) and a Bachelor in Finance and Economics (McGill University).
 

Kevin Boutilier

Manager, Clean Energy, Halifax Regional Municipality
Kevin Boutilier is the Manager of Clean Energy with the Halifax Regional Municipality. After receiving a Bachelor of Engineering degree in 2013, Kevin began working in the renewable energy industry, gaining knowledge of solar energy system design, feasibility, installation and operation. In his current position, Kevin is responsible for the successful delivery of the Solar City program, the new Retrofit Pilot program and the Municipal Electric Vehicle Strategy. In addition, Kevin is supporting the implementation of HalifACT, the municipality’s climate action plan that aims to reduce community-wide emissions by 75% over 2016 levels and achieve net-zero by 2050. Kevin uses his experience and passion of clean energy to educate and lead the community in reducing their carbon footprint.
 

Léo Bouisson

Léo is a co founder and CEO at Weeve, an electric vehicle subscription company; Weeve focuses on accelerating electrification for ride-sharing drivers, communities (carsharing) and fleets across Quebec, and is currently active in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver. With more than 650+ vehicles on the road, Weeve is positioning itself as one of Canadian’s largest EV fleet. Prior to founding Weeve, Léo held various positions with Bombardier, including Regional Sales, participating in sales efforts for Europe and Latin America. Léo holds a Master in Materials from Mines Nancy (France) and a Master in Aerospace from Polytechnique Montreal (QC).

Francis Bradley

President and Chief Executive Officer, Electricity Canada
Francis Bradley is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Electricity Canada. Electricity Canada is the National Voice of Electricity and serves its electricity industry members through the work of expert professionals led by Francis and directed by a Board of Directors made up of member CEOs. Francis is the co-chair of the National Cross-Sector Forum, overseeing Canada’s Action Plan for Critical Infrastructure. He also sits on the Steering Committee for the Electricity Sub-Sector Coordinating Council (ESCC), the Board for the Energy Council of Canada (ECC), the Positive Energy Advisory Council, and is a founding Board member of the Canadian Transportation Alliance. At the North American Electric Reliability Corporation’s (NERC) Member Representatives Committee and Board of Trustees’ meetings, Francis represents Electricity Canada and advocates strongly for its members in their activities related to the Electric Reliability Organization Enterprise, and its role in ensuring the reliability and security of the North American bulk power system.

Prior to being named CEO in June 2019, Francis managed Electricity Canada’s day-to-day activities as Chief Operating Officer since 2014. During that time, he also acted as a member of the National Advisory Committee of Canada’s Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction and was a co-chair with the Standards Council of Canada of the Smart Grid Standards Advisory Committee.

In 2019 Francis created and continues to host “The Flux Capacitor” podcast, featuring discussions about the future of electricity with CEOs, regulators, political figures, and leaders from civil society.
 

Daniel Breton

President & CEO, Electric Mobility Canada
Daniel Breton is President and CEO of Electric Mobility Canada, one of the oldest associations dedicated to the electrification of transportation in the world. This organization has members from every sectors related to electric mobility in Canada, including electricity suppliers, vehicle manufacturers, cities, universities, unions, technology companies, mining companies, research centers, government departments, environmental NGOs, electric vehicle owners' associations, dealers associations, fleet managers, etc. A former Quebec Minister of the Environment, Sustainable Development, Wildlife and Parks, he was the first elected official in charge of a government strategy for the electrification of transportation in Canada in 2012. He graduated in sustainable carbon management and has written several books on the subject of transportation electrification, climate change, air pollution and energy transition since 2009.
 

Erin Burbidge

Vice President, Policy and Innovation, Clean Foundation
Erin Burbidge is a dedicated professional with over 10 years of experience tackling complex environmental challenges, particularly in the realms of energy, transportation, and climate change. As Vice President of Policy and Innovation at Clean Foundation, Erin has led teams delivering impactful projects in areas such as coastal restoration, energy efficiency, and public engagement. She has worked closely with government and private sector partners to design programs to help increase EV adoption in Nova Scotia and enhance the province’s public charging network. Erin has also spearheaded initiatives to support public education on renewable energy and explore the feasibility of hydrogen fuel-switching in heavy-duty vehicles. Her strong background in law, policy, project management and change management, make her adept at navigating regulatory environments and leading high-impact environmental programs.

Daniel Carr

Head, Smart Cities, Green Energy & Technology Centre, Alectra Utilities
Daniel Carr is an experienced developer and leader of new initiatives, with expertise in innovative, customer-facing energy program management, strategy development and policy advocacy. In his role of Head, Smart Cities at Alectra Utilities, he develops strategy and leads projects that bring new distributed energy technologies and concepts into practice, with a focus on electric mobility, sensor networks and electricity pricing. Daniel has a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from Carleton University, with an undergraduate degree in Government from Cornell University. He chairs Electric Mobility Canada's Utilities Committee.

Melissa Chow

Director, Investments, Canada Infrastructure Bank
Melissa Chow joined the Canada Infrastructure Bank in 2022 and is a Director on the Investments team. Melissa supports the CIB’s investments in Green Infrastructure and currently leads the CIB’s Charging and Hydrogen Refuelling Infrastructure initiative.

Melissa has more than 15 years of banking experience in the infrastructure and real estate sectors. Prior to joining the CIB, she was a Director, Corporate Banking at Scotiabank where she was involved in structuring and arranging several landmark project finance and leveraged acquisition finance transactions in Canada, the United States and Europe. Melissa started her career practicing law at a Canadian law firm with a focus on infrastructure project finance.

Melissa holds a JD from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University and a BCom from Queen’s University.
 

Cara Clairman

President & CEO, Plug'n Drive
Cara Clairman is President and CEO of Plug’n Drive, a non-profit that is accelerating the deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) to maximize their environmental and economic benefits.
Cara has taken Plug’n Drive from an idea to a thriving non-profit, recognized as a leader in the EV space. Focused on accelerating EV adoption through outreach and education for over 10 years, Plug'n Drive has developed a number of awardwinning programs to encourage consumers and fleets to make the switch from gas to electric, including the EV Discovery Centre and the Mobile EV Education Trailer (MEET). Cara has more than 25 years of experience working in the environmental and sustainability fields, including 12 years working at Ontario Power Generation, initially as OPG’s environmental lawyer and later in the role Vice President of Sustainable Development. Prior to joining OPG, Cara spent five years practicing environmental law with the Torys law firm.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall and a Masters in Environmental Studies from York University, as well as an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from Queen’s University.
Cara is the 2017 recipient of the Women in Renewable Energy’s ‘Woman of the Year’ award and the 2021 winner of the Al Cormier EV leadership award from Electric Mobility Canada. She lives in a two EV household, including a Chevy Bolt and a Tesla Model 3.
 

Jason Clifton

Jason Clifton is a Partner in the Business Consulting practice of Ernst & Young Canada with over 22 years of experience. He is currently EY Canada’s eMobility leader and is also EY Canada’s Energy Risk leader. Jason’s has spent a significant amount of his career in the Energy space working with may public and non-public companies in the Power & Utilities, Oil & Gas, Transportation, and Agricultural and other sectors. Jason brings experience in eMobility, risk management, operational risk management, major program management, sustainability & decarbonizing, energy transition, cybersecurity, business intelligence, root cause, governance, and business process management and optimization. Jason has worked with clients completing an array of different eMobility related engagements including assessing and developing full fleet electrification plans, working with clients to develop charging plans and strategies, and developing business electrification transformation strategies.
 

Josh Cohen

Head of Policy, SWTCH
Josh leads North American policy and regulatory strategy and engagement for SWTCH, a leader in
electric vehicle charging solutions for multi-tenant properties. In this role he works to inform and shape
the market and policy landscape for EV charging to improve the economics of EV ownership and
charging, expand equitable access, and deliver benefits to drivers, property owners, and the grid through
software-based managed charging, open protocols, and interoperability.
Prior to SWTCH, Josh served in policy roles at Shell Recharge Solutions (formerly Greenlots),
SemaConnect (now Blink), and the Business Network for Offshore Wind (now Oceantic). Josh’s prior
experience also includes serving in public sector leadership roles including as mayor of Annapolis,
Maryland and as deputy administrator of the USDA’s Rural Utilities Service (RUS) during the Obama
Administration. Based in Annapolis, Josh holds an M.S. in Energy Policy and Climate from Johns Hopkins
University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland.
 

Michael Collins

Co-Founder and CEO, Pivot Electric Machine
Michael is a successful entrepreneur with a vision of a greener mining and construction industry. The benefits of electric mining equipment were brought hope early in his career a production geologist in a ventilation poor mine which left him walking around in the dark for a lot of extra hours underground. As underground electric equipment was introduced in underground mining in the 2010’s Michael was a key EV proponent in mining studies and planning with an international mining engineering consultancy. By 2021 it was clear that electric mining equipment is not only cleaner can be more cost efficient and effective than diesel. Pivot Electric Machines was born to make the most effective mining equipment by combining “best in class” battery technology with existing equipment chaises to reduce mining cost as we increase production of vital battery metals.
 

Theresa Cooke

Theresa leads Customer Success for Managed Charging globally at Siemens. Based in Canada, she is responsible for establishing and growing a profitable managed service offering for electrified commercial fleets across Europe and North America. Theresa holds a degree in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Canada and a doctorate in neuroscience from the Max Planck Institute in Germany. She sits on the board of Electric Mobility Canada and chairs the Medium & Heavy-Duty Working Group. She is also a certified professional coach, yoga teacher, and musician with 4 original tracks on Soundcloud.
 

Charles Crispim

Charles Crispim is a Senior Policy Advisor for the Office of Energy Research and Development at Natural Resources Canada. He has worked for over thirty years in the transportation sector. For the last twenty years, he has worked in government supporting the development and implementation of numerous transportation programs and policies. Prior to that, Charles worked for numerous organizations serving the transportation sector including Fed Ex, Penske Truck Leasing, and the Seaway International Bridge. In his spare time, Charles can be seen at the track where he serves as a Safety Marshal at Calabogie Motorsport Park.
 

Jason Cruickshank

Director, Customer Experience, SWTCH
Jason is the Director of Customer Experience at SWTCH, a leading provider of innovative EV charging solutions for multifamily, commercial, and workplace properties across North America. An EV driver for more than seven years with 15 years of previous working experience in IT, he manages the 24/7 support team that helps ensure EV drivers have a great experience across the SWTCH network. Jason currently serves on the board of directors for EMC, has previously served on the board of directors for EV Society, and was a board member and founder for SaskEV in Saskatoon. Jason has a deep passion for the electrification of transportation and action on climate change and currently resides with his partner and child in Winnipeg.

Isabel Cyr

Government Relations & Public Affairs Director, Lithion Technologies
Isabel Cyr joined Lithion in March 2023 to lead the global Government Relations and Public Affairs team. The department's goal is to support the financing, growth and expansion of Lithion Technologies’ operations domestically and internationally.

Isabel has 15 years of experience in government relations: government incentives, strategic advice, implementation of public policy strategies, and as a location advisor for investment projects. Prior to joining Lithion, she was Director of Policy and Government Relations at Taiga Motors, a manufacturer of electric off-road and marine vehicles. She was also the Director of Consulting Services at CAI Global where she specialized in capital investment project strategies. She has worked on product compliance to support growth efforts in new markets, represented the interests of manufacturers to governments, advised C-suite executives of manufacturing companies on location strategies in the deployment of their large-scale investment projects and developed strategic plans for government organizations to attract foreign direct investments.

Isabel holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a major in Marketing and a minor in Finance from the John Molson School of Business in Montreal. She is a Development Finance Certified Professional (DFCP) and a credentialed Project Management Professional (PMP). She is Treasurer for Propulsion Québec (the electric vehicle cluster association in Quebec) where she has been a board member since 2023. She is on the Advocacy Committee of ALS Quebec where she has been a board member since 2019. Previously, she was an industrial member of the Technology Transfer Committee of IVADO and an advisory board member of Business Facilities LiveXChange.
 

Jeff Dahn

Professor Emeritus & Principal Researcher, Dalhousie University
Jeff Dahn is recognized as one of the pioneering developers of the lithium-ion battery that is now used worldwide in laptop computers and cell-phones. Dahn's recent work has concentrated on increasing the energy density, improving the lifetime and lowering the cost of lithium ion batteries. He is the author of over 640 refereed journal papers and co-inventor of 65 inventions with patents issued or filed.

Jeff Dahn was born in Bridgeport, Conn. in 1957 and emigrated with his family to Nova Scotia, Canada in 1970. He obtained his B.Sc. in Physics from Dalhousie University (1978) and his Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia in 1982. Dahn then worked at the National Research Council of Canada (82-85) and at Moli Energy Limited (85-90) before taking up a faculty position in the Physics Department at Simon Fraser University in 1990. He returned to Dalhousie University in 1996.

Jeff Dahn has always interacted strongly with industry. During his years at Simon Fraser University (90-96) he collaborated strongly with the R+D team at NEC/Moli Energy Canada (Now E-One/Moli Energy Canada). Dr. Dahn took up the NSERC/3M Canada Industrial Research Chair in Materials for Advanced Batteries at Dalhousie University in 1996 and held that position until 2016. In June 2016, Dr. Dahn began a 5-year research partnership with Tesla Motors/Energy as an NSERC/Tesla Canada Industrial Research Chair.

Jeff has received numerous awards including: International Battery Materials Association (IBA) Research Award (1995); Herzberg Medal, Canadian Association of Physicists (1996); ECS Battery Division Research Award (1996); Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (2001); Medal for Excellence in Teaching (2009) from the Canadian Assoc. of Physicists, The Rio-Tinto Alcan Award from the Canadian Institute of Chemistry (2010), the ECS Battery Division Technology Award (2011), the Yeager award from the International Battery Materials Association (2016) and the Inaugural Govenor General's Innovation Award (2016).
 

Jeff Davis

Jeff is the founder and CEO of Asset Market, a technology and analytics company that optimizes and reduces the cost of deploying critical infrastructure such as EV chargers, digital and IoT devices. Asset Market works with EV charging firms, telecoms carriers, government, utilities and private landowners to electrify transport and improve connectivity in communities across North America, UK and Europe. Previously Jeff has held COO and CFO roles in technology companies and helped build one of Europe's leading energy & utility consultancies.
 

Frédéric Dechamplain

Climate Change Advisor (ZEV Mandate), MELCCFP (Environment Québec)
With a master's degree in chemistry, I spent six years working in the environmental field at FPinnovations before joining the Quebec Ministry of the Environment in 2012. I first joined the ranks of the environmental emergencies coordination office, where, among other things, I acted as an expert for the restoration of the Chaudière River following the Lac-Mégantic rail disaster. Since 2018, I have been a member of the VZE team in the Climate and Energy Transition Office, where I manage the VZE standard for light vehicles (both relations with manufacturers and modeling of different scenarios for the implementation of the new regulations). Our team is also working on the development of new regulations for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.
 

Audrey Dépault

Senior Advisor, Public Policy and Business Development,Tesla
A graduate of Concordia University and the University of Sherbrooke, Audrey joined Tesla after more than a decade working in the non-profit climate movement. She was Director of the Canadian branch of The Climate Reality Project, founded by former Vice President Al Gore.



At Tesla, Audrey covers a variety of policy issues, which are aimed at accelerating the transition to sustainable energy. Audrey is particularly interested in the various policy approaches to recover, re-use and recycle used and end-of-life EV and storage batteries.

Derek Estabrook

Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Eastward Energy
Derek Estabrook is the Vice President of Business Development for Eastward Energy, the natural gas distribution utility in Nova Scotia, where he leads the company’s energy transition and marketing teams. Eastward Energy is developing sustainable energy solutions to support Nova Scotia’s transition to net-zero emissions including low-carbon hydrogen, renewable natural gas, hybrid heating systems, and gas heat pumps. In 2021, Derek and his Eastward Energy colleagues played a leading role in the launch of the Atlantic Hydrogen Alliance to support the development of a prosperous hydrogen ecosystem in Atlantic Canada.



Prior to joining Eastward Energy, Derek worked for 20 years in sales, marketing, product innovation, and business development roles at PepsiCo, Agropur, Gatorade Canada, and Maple Leaf Foods. Derek holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Dalhousie University. He lives in Halifax where he is an avid runner, cyclist, cross country skier and outdoor enthusiast who also serves as a Director on the boards of the Atlantic Hydrogen Alliance, Nordiq Canada, and the Healthy Tomorrow Foundation.
 

Pascal Flambard

Business Development Manager Canada, Kempower Canada Inc.
Graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maine in France, after many years as an executive within software industry leaders in mechanical and then electrical engineering, in Europe and North America, Pascal Flambard has chosen the dynamic transport electrification market with Kempower, the Scandinavian flagship of this industry. With extremely rapid but well-controlled growth, this Finnish company is well aware of the challenges of electrification in difficult climatic conditions very similar to the Canadian climate. Its recent penetration of the North American market is exemplary.
 

Sara Ganowski

Senior Manager, Power & Utilities, e-Mobility, EY
Sara Ganowski is a Senior Manager in the Business Consulting practice of Ernst & Young Canada with 10 years of experience in the sustainable energy, power & utilities, and electric-mobility sector. Sara leads EY’s eMobility portfolio in the Power & Utilities sector, working with energy companies coast-to-coast on business transformation strategies with a focus on electrification. Prior to her consulting career, Sara led industry award-winning utility innovation and EV programs, managed market research portfolios, and spearheaded multi-stakeholder partnerships in the energy transition space. She is a published author in international scientific journals and was recognized as Canada’s 2022 Clean50 for her contributions to the clean economy.
 

Laurette Geldenhuys

Professor, Dalhousie University
Laurette was trained in South Africa, has master’s degrees in Anatomical Pathology and Medical Education, and is a Professor at Dalhousie University in Nephropathology. She is a former Division Head of Anatomical Pathology at Nova Scotia Health, and is a Past President of the Canadian Association of Pathologists (CAP-ACP), Chair of the CAP-ACP National Specialty Network on the Environment, Secretary of the Doctors NS Section on Planetary Health, Chair of the Nova Scotian Regional Committee of the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment (CAPE NS), and member of the Lab Green Team, the Board of CAPE, the Board of the Ecology Action Centre, and St. Matthew’s United Church Earth Spirit Action Team. She is interested in the greening of health care, the health effects of the climate emergency, and the beneficial health effects of spending time in nature. She has steered numerous studies, including environmental and social impact studies (ESIS), and public consultations with communities and Indigenous Peoples, and has been actively involved on different consultative committees. In recent years, she has held management positions in the environment sector at numerous companies, most notably Minerai de Fer Québec, Hatch, GNL Québec, Mine Arnaud and Ressources Strateco, to name but a few.

Dr. Sue Molloy, P.Eng., FCAE, holds a PhD in Naval Architectural and Ocean Engineering (Memorial University) and is the CEO of Glas Ocean Electric (GOE), a Nova Scotia-based company using their electric propulsion and AI-enabled navigation systems to reduce maritime carbon emissions. Sue and her team won the Lieutenant Governor’s award for Excellence in Engineering.
Sue is a Chair of the board for the Council of Canadian Academies, elected Vice President of the Engineers Nova Scotia Council and past co-chair for Canada’s Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council Discovery Grant program.
Sue’s professional service work includes being an active reviewer for the US Department of Energy and national Canadian Government programs, serving as Canadian Chair of ISO TC 8, Ships and Marine Technology and as the international convenor for the IEC committee focused on river turbine performance. In 2022 Sue was elected as a fellow to the Canadian Academy of Engineering.

Sanjeev Pushkarna

Sanjeev leads Nova Scotia Power’s efforts in supporting the development of the hydrogen and offshore wind sector in the province, responding to the needs of government, hydrogen developers and others that are impacted by this important new industry.

Before starting his new role in business development, Sanjeev led Smart Grid Nova Scotia, a program focused on demonstrating the value that Distributed Energy Resources can provide to customers and the electricity system in NS. Project components include residential and commercial battery systems, commercial rooftop solar PV, EV smart chargers, EV bidirectional chargers and the province’s first Community Solar Garden.

Brad now manages Transportation RD&D projects and codes and standards files under NRCan's Energy Innovation Program. Amy is currently the Green Municipal Fund Lead for Transportation at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. Kent Smith was first elected in 2021. Prior to becoming Minister of Fisheries & Aquaculture in 2023, Hon. Smith was a member of several legislative standing committees including Public Accounts, Health, Natural Resources & Economic Development. Minister Smith was a member of the historic all-party committee that created Bill 96, the Dismantling Racism and Hate Act, in 2022, and served as Deputy Speaker of the Legislature from November 2022 until September 2023.

Thierry leads the On-Road Transportation Division, responsible for the Zero-Emission Vehicle and Clean Fuel Awareness Initiative, Indigenous-led Awareness Pilot, behavioural science work, and the greening government operations fleet program. In addition his division is reducing emissions in the freight sector via the Green Freight Program, SmartWay and SmartDriver. His team is also producing the Fuel Consumption Guide and EnerGuide Label for vehicles. Prior to joining the Government, Thierry worked at the Centre for Urban Energy in Toronto. He holds a Ph.D in Environmental Science from Toronto Metropolitan University and a Master in Evolutionary Biology from the University of Zurich.
